A NAKED middle-aged woman took a bath in Suzhou Creek under the Wuning Road Bridge yesterday afternoon, disregarding the views of onlookers, Xinmin Evening News reported today.[not naked woman photo ]
A witness, surnamed Qian, said the woman, who was about 40 years old, exposed her body in the sunshine and placed her clothes in a blue plastic bag. She then took out a towel and began to wash herself in the river, which is about knee deep, Qian said.
Many pedestrians stood by to watch her bathe, while some called the police to notify them of the woman's indecent behavior.
But when the police arrived, the woman had already left, after bathing for 15 minutes.
Currently, China doesn't have any regulations or laws forbidding people from being naked in public areas, but the woman was obviously disregarding basic social ethics, a lawyer said.
